Correspondance:
Rosemary, Basil, Poppies, Sunflowers, Goldenrod, Apple leaves, Crow feather
.
You manifest under the coats
Of many colors
The orange tinted hues the sun wears
Country roadsides, yellow goldenrod run
.
Breathe the hallowed air
A new scent is there
It speaks of change
And the wheel gently turns
Fields into gold
The delightful warm summer stands barefoot
At the treshold of the fall season
It doesn't know the chill or the cold by now
And dusk comes mellowly but sooner than before
You dwell half-way amongst the brilliant solstice
And the chilly, petrichorian equinox
You are sovereign in your revered realm
You own the light and let it linger in your palms
.
.
A time of plenty and feast
Blueberries are picked at ease
Corn dolls are weaved and bound
Spirits relieved, we taste the fecund
We collect what we have found
Reap the rewards of rebirth
Fruits and grains
Ripen and full
But tend to your garden still
As outcome yet awaits not in vain...
.
Reflections on the seeds we've sown
How much we've grown
As we drink the last cup of sunlight
Of a dying sun
May the darkness spares us a little longer
Corn Mother
Let your daughter
Fall into the cold earth
To be hidden through all winter
Only to be born again
Precious seeds of all future harvests...
.
Our toil's gift right from soil's hands
The Goddess brings by threefold
The prime fruits of our labor she bears
Abundance at our door
Harvest gods smile upon the land
Where the sheaves of corn are laid
The altars dressed with care
Swathed in offerings, sunflowers, wheat and sun
.
All the ripples of wheat
Become the bread we eat
Mead in our hand
We honor the dawn of the season
Becoming the gatherers of its galore
As the first cut of grain
Already begun
We honor mother earth
And her gift of selfless abundance and rebirth
Its cornucopias we shall preserve and eat
To welcome what may come in a heartbeat.
.
Slowly recedes the warmth
Unfolds a twilight haze
And gently progress the colder days
Bake your bread and store the fruits
For winter's chill will take root
.
Soon, we'll see the autumn dance
Its sheer breath will make the leaves turn and twirl in a swirl stance
.
.
Facing the sun
I flourish within in return
Mindful and whole
Harvesting joy
With a blythe sway of scythe
It's the beginning of our last days of light
I fear not approaching the cold
For wise souls have always foretold
.
Blessed on Lammas night,
where witches behold the full moon sight.
