⊕ Oh June,
Fiery and alive,
When your golden petals of flame
Pounds down to scorch our bones
Poplars unreservedly proclaim their resilience
Vowing to leave their legacy
For thousands of years more
Releasing their silky-haired stars
Into the firmament of the day.
.
You hold everything upwardly
From Spring's damp dark earth
To the blazing vermillion of Summer,
To your highest climb,
Before your descent into shadows
When the days outlast the nights.
.
Meet with the Sun god,
Basking on his greenwood throne
Lord of the forests'
Oak's wooden door is left ajar for you too see
He's the one who wears countless foliate masks
Engaging the initiatory dance of work and leisure
.
Summer solstice aflame
Spring's Maiden offered
Her crown of bloom
To the abundant Mother of Summer
So it may ripen.
.
You know how I missed your heat?
Everything succumbs and expands under your solar force
Tell me how you adorn everything around?
Timothy grass's peeping out their feathery heads
As farmers rush to harvest their first cut
I see horses graze behind the white wooden fences
Yellow buttercup and pink ragged robin
Painted in the distance
A loose brushtroke's impressionist view
of a wildflower' ephemeral landscape
In the field
Crickets fervent to every dusk
Craft a midsummernight's dream of their own
In the sunlight
That may burn your skin
And dry your everyday clothes
Insects, bees and frogs built their life around you
They missed the smell of the roses as much as I do
Carefree and nurturing
Raw and burning.
.
The Sun-soaring mullein torch has been lit
Gather in circles
Leap the bonfire
Collect the Sun God's eye
Through your skin and your mind
Before sliding into darkness.
.
Ferally yours,
